When plugging the drive into the machine, make sure your fingers are on the side. I did use it pretty constantly during those 3 years, but I'd like a drive that lasts a bit longer. [.]. If you're going to use the San disk drives, I recommend removing the U3 product as soon as you get it.
I'm work for an insurance agency in the IT Department and bought this drive soon after graduating. If you accidentally press the button while inserting the drive will just slide back into the casing. is one that I use on a daily basis.Form factor is ok at best. It lasted for 3-4 years in my pocket, but then stopped registering on any computer I plugged it into.
There are other products that will serve the same purpose and won't install on your computer or erase your data. A slight annoyance, but not what you want when time is key. I'm guessing the connectors eventually wiggled loose. Luckily I did weekly backups of the data that was on the drive, so I didn't lose much.

For that reason I would never buy more then one of any Item.They were all shipped in the same package and I feel the price they charged for shipping was a ripoff. I bought Three of them and the shipping caused the price to be Double the price of the SanDisk Cruzer. It is a great Storage Item. The only thing I did not like was that the shipping was way over priced.
But it's held up extremely well. When I'm on windows, I even have the write-cache properties set for instant removal of the drive (which slows down in-out data, but lets you pull the flash drive out without clicking all those stupid little bubbles), and I've still never felt it was too slow.Initially I worried that the drive would physically break because every time you want to use it you have to slide it in and out. The data transfer rate is plenty fast for constant refreshing of a webpage which is stored on the flash drive; I've never felt bogged down.
I got this used on Amazon. I transfer files between my Mac and a windows machine with no trouble at all. Another review in the 5 star category.
I run a website server off this (xampplite with apache + mysql), so I can work on my sites from whichever computer I'm at. If I upgrade, the first thing I'll look at will be at another sandisk cruzer micro. As soon as I got it I took off the u3 software (and formatted the drive): extremely easy and quick.
I've been using this every single day for almost a year now with not a single problem.
It is also a bit "chunky". It does not work on low power docking stations, like the Mac aluminum keyboard. The slider hold fairly well, but the head will often retract if you don't push it out enough. This is just a normal flash drive. Okay for general use. Unless you reformat the disk from scratch, it will recreate the five or six folders it comes preinstalled with, even if you don't want them. It comes with the U3 software on its own partition, which is useful, but it does not work on a mac. Also, this is a high power USB device.
